A large abstract frilled vase pushing the limits of clay. Going into the 1980s, Lane began to solely work with porcelain; this piece is a precursor of Lanes final focus. In 2018, Lane made his final works for a 60 year retrospective, highlighting his command and mastery as an artist. The organic frills flow almost like the fins of an aquatic creature.
