Her paintings are associated with the Bush Yam,an important food source for Evelyns people. She portrays this in both a linear style and a more abstract style which she developed. In 2005 Evelyn was the winner of the General Painting section of the Telstra Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award.
