This tower sits 162 feet high and provides views of the Denver area from the location of the school near City Park

In March of 2013 after a Saturday snowstorm I headed to Sloans Lake in Denver to photograph at sunrise

Today I was in the area and thought about photographing the same scene without the snow

Observatory Park in the Winter Size:16"x20" the flow of traffic slowingThe Chamberlin Observatory is located at Observatory Park near the University of Denver. The observatory originally opened in 1890 and features a 20 inch refracting telescope. As a late January snow fell on the city I was out exploring new locations to photograph in the snow and found myself at the park. The flakes filled the sky and made the park into a snow globe feel on a day when the observatory itself would also just need to enjoy the scene.
