本作は、奈良・赤膚焼の名匠であられる尾西楽斎様が手掛けた烏帽子形の香合です。直径約7センチ、高さ6センチ以内ほどの掌中サイズながら、端正に折り畳まれた烏帽子の「折れ」や「眉折（まゆおり）」を精緻に写し取り、上下二分割によって内部に練香や伽羅片を納める構造となっています。

梅華皮香炉は、竹村繁男様が長年培ってきた技術と自然への畏敬の念が融合し、自然の灰釉が持つ奥深い魅力が見事に表現された作品です。白い釉薬がまるで雪景色を思わせるこの作品は、ただの香炉に留まらず、自然と共鳴する芸術品として多くの人々に愛されています。
