Coated with gorgeous medium brown lacquer, each individual oval shaped tier has its own unique type of basket weave on display (some with open weave and some more tightly woven) and a thin wooden base for a bottom piece. At the top is a fitted lid wth a black lacquered surface that has a landscape scenery hand painted in gold
